Secure an Impact Award for Education

With over 30 years experience and expertise, our Impact Award for Education programme is a tailored programme of training and support for schools and education facilities. Our programme support schools to understand more about autism and how to implement pragmatic adaptions within school to provide practical support to help autistic students succeed.

  • Our Impact Award training can help each school achieve the following outcomes:

Increase accessibility - Autism is the fastest growing disability in Europe and over 1 in 20 children have a diagnosis of autism (DHSSPS, 2023). Your organisation will promote best practice and social inclusion for the whole community. Each school will be able to promote best practice and social inclusion for the whole community.

Become equality compliant - every Northern Ireland school is legally obligated to provide equal access to services for autistic people as per the 2011 Disability Discrimination Act (NI).

Increase staff confidence - confident, knowledgeable, and skilled staff will improve inclusion and strengthen the organisation’s reputation, and performance.

Increase accessibility and inclusion - small reasonable adjustments can make a big difference. Families will build trust and confidence in your staff team, promoting an open and positive relationship between parents, pupils and school.

  • Schools that achieve our Impact Award receive the following benefits:

    • Tailored training - providing staff teams with a greater understanding of autism and how to support autistic pupils.

    • Three-year individualised support - aimed at supporting the development and implementation of an autism inclusion action plan.

    • Champion inclusion - use of the Impact Award logo on school websites and any printed literature.

    • Recognition - presentation and display of an Autism NI Impact Award plaque in your school.

    • Partnership promotion - in addition to the promotion as an Impact Education Champion on our website and across all our digital channels, we will work with each school to help promote your good work.

“The benefits to both staff and pupils have been very noticeable and it has certainly been a rewarding piece of work.”
