Autism Training Courses for Professionals

We deliver autism training courses that work for you. 

Our Training Team has over 30 years of experience in developing and delivering autism training. We’ve worked with a range of professionals and practitioners to help them create environments where autistic people feel safe, understood, and supported.

We offer in-person training options, live, online autism training, or on-demand, e-learning webinars for flexible learning.

All our live courses are interactive, with activities, group discussions, and Q&A sessions. Many are CPD certified, and AQA Unit Award accreditations are available to support your professional development.

Alternatively, we can deliver bespoke group training that is designed specifically to your organisational needs. This training can be delivered across Northern Ireland, the island of Ireland, UK and internationally.

We believe every autistic person should have access to services and feel fully supported, whether in education, healthcare, or the workplace. Who is the training for?

We train anyone who wants to learn about autism: autistic people, parents, carers, professionals, and community groups. You can book a place on one of our open courses or arrange a bespoke session for your group.

What topics do you cover?

We offer training on a wide range of autism-related topics, including:

• Understanding autism (for different audiences)
• Anxiety, sleep, sensory needs, communication, and social stories
• Life stages like early years, teenage years, and transitions

What group sizes do you train?

Our standard group size is up to 25 people for an interactive experience, but we’re flexible. We also offer open courses for individuals.

How long are the courses?

Courses range from 2–3 hour sessions to full-day or multi-day programmes. Duration is listed on each course booking. Our group training duration can be tailored to suit your needs. 

How does online training work?

You’ll receive a Zoom link at least 48 hours before the session (check your spam folder if it’s not in your inbox). If you haven’t received it 24 hours before, contact us: training@autismni.org.

What is AQA Unit Award Accreditation?

Some courses offer AQA accreditation (£40 per unit). You’ll complete a short written assessment after the course. Details and full instructions will be emailed to you after you complete the course. Ask your trainer or email us to register.

What is CPD Certification?

Many of our courses are CPD certified, giving you confidence that you are receiving the highest quality training.

What if a course is full?

Email training@autismni.org to check availability. Join our mailing list to be notified if places open or when new dates are released.

How do I cancel a booking?

Cancellation details are on your booking form. For changes or cancellations, contact us as soon as possible, especially for parent/carer courses, which often have waiting lists.
