Autism NI's PACE project provides a unique autism support service to autistic adults after a recent diagnosis. Gain one to one autism support within your own local community, based on your individual needs.
Funded by the National Lottery, PACE (Promoting Autistic Community Engagement) provides a unique autism support service for newly diagnosed autistic adults, offering community-based support.
The one to one autism support service adopts a flexible approach, to help autistic adults connect with others and access autism support tailored to your needs. The project will build confidence and community for newly diagnosed autistic adults.
Our Autistic Adults Support Officers deliver this bespoke service for newly diagnosed autistic adults who live in the following areas:
• Belfast area
• Northern area (Newtownabbey, Antrim, and Carrickfergus)
• South Eastern area (Holywood, Newtownards, Bangor, Lisburn, and Downpatrick)
• Western area (Londonderry, Strabane, and Limavady)
Autistic Adult Peer Networks
As part of our PACE Project, autistic adults who are engaging with the PACE Project can also connect into our Autistic Adult Peer Networks.
These online groups offer a relaxed, supportive environment for PACE participants to connect, socialise, and access peer support, with text-based communication available via chat.
The Family Support team coordinates 3 Autistic Peer Networks:
• Adults aged 18 + years
• Adults aged 30 + years and
• Autistic LGBTQIA+ Peer Network
