Sarah is a parent of an autistic son and has been supported through our Early Intervention Service.

Autism NI has supported me as a mum and supported our entire family while my son awaited an assessment (4 years), and now that he has been given a diagnosis, they continue to support us, and especially support my son, Ethan. We have felt better equipped as a family in supporting Ethan especially now after we have received the formal diagnosis in June this year. We can’t thank Autism NI enough for their ongoing guidance and support in dispelling the common misperceptions about autism and in helping us help Ethan thrive. The Early Intervention Service at Autism NI provides parents and children with practical advice on how to support a child with autism, when other services fall short or minimise your child’s needs. Autism NI has an excellent website full of resources and offered us crucial zoom training, which for me was a gamechanger in helping me support and connect with my son more effectively. As a parent I feel so fortunate that Autism NI provide such meaningful, practical, respect-based support for families.
