Autism and Sport

Do you facilitate sports activities for groups and sometimes struggle to engage effectively with individuals with Autism?

Course aimed at: Sports Coaches, Teachers, Youth Leaders and anyone who facilitates sports activities with groups. 

Course Objectives:

This course will explore the characteristics of Autism and how this may impact on an individual participating in sports activities. The course will explore effective adjustments that can be made to ensure these activities are more accessible to individuals with Autism, complying with equality legislation. The course includes:

  • The main features associated with Autism
  • Challenges participating in sports for someone with Autism
  • Appropriate strategies and support for someone with Autism to engage with sports.
